  • Dr Linda Schachter

    Dr Linda Schachter, Medical Director of Vital Sleep, graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1989, followed by her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 1996. She then proceeded to get her PHD from the University of Sydney in 2006.

    Linda is interested in the diagnosis and treatment of all sleep disorders. Linda has a long-term research interest in the effects of obesity on sleep apnoea, lung function, and asthma and the effects of weight-loss on these conditions.

    She is a member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand, Australasian Sleep Association, American Sleep Association, American Thoracic Society, the Obesity Society of Australia and New Zealand, A clinical committee member of the Australian Sleep Association (ASA) and on the board of the SleepHealth Foundation.

  • Dr Mariannick Le Guen

    Dr Mariannick Le Guen is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians specialising in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine.

    She graduated from Monash University in 2000 and completed her physician training at Southern Health, the Geelong Hospital and Austin Health.

    Dr Le Guen has training and experience in general respiratory medicine, sleep disorders, and complex modes of ventilatory support. She has also been involved in research investigating obstructive sleep apnoea in patients with quadriplegia.

    Dr Le Guen’s area of expertise includes all aspects of sleep medicine, including sleep apnoea, narcolepsy, restless leg syndrome, circadian rhythm disorders, parasomnias and insomnia. She is a member of the Australian Sleep Association, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand, and the American Thoracic Society.

  • Dr Ying Sunny Sun

    Dr Sunny (Ying) Sun is a Respiratory and Sleep Physician who consults at a number of locations. She completed her medical degree with Honours, along with a Bachelor of Medical Science, at Monash University. She undertook specialist training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Alfred Health, and currently holds an ongoing clinical role at Alfred Hospital.

    Dr Sun manages the full spectrum of respiratory and sleep conditions. Her particular interests include:

    - Sleep-disordered breathing and excessive daytime sleepiness

    - Obstructive airway disease

    - The impact of obesity and weight change on respiratory and sleep health

    In addition to her clinical work, Dr Sun is committed to delivering thoughtful, patient-centred care and has been involved in several quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing patient outcomes.

  • Dr Freya Berenyi

    Dr Freya Berenyi is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, specialising in Respiratory and Sleep medicine. She completed her specialty training through Royal Melbourne, The Alfred and St Vincent's Hospital. 

    Freya provides management of all respiratory and sleep conditions, with a particularly interest in sleep apnoea, restless leg syndrome and insomnia.
